Networking

Everyone needs a network. Each club has a cross-section of businesses from all walks of life. Rotarians support each other as well as helping those in need.

Personal development

Through activities, responsibilities and opportunity. Rotary promotes growth in social skills, public speaking and motivation.

Fun!

Rotary is fun. All meetings have a fun element. There's never a dull moment when people with a common purpose pull together to support a worthwhile cause.

People like you and me.

Rotarians are people who share their time and energy to help their community ... and have fun doing it. A worldwide organisation, Rotary is made up of men and women across all vocations. You can spot them by the little gold and blue badge they wear. In New Zealand there are more than 10,000 members of 240 Rotary clubs from towns, cities and small communities, all committed to "Service above self".

Who can be a Rotarian

Men and women from a broad range of managerial or business ownership backgrounds. Most importantly, they must want to serve their community and attend their club regularly. A significant cross-section of a community's vocational life is represented - one of Rotary's great strengths.

How to join

Membership is by invitation but if you don't know anyone in Rotary you can contact a local club directly. A person who's interested in joining is invited to attend a club meeting to learn more about Rotary. Their name is submitted to a membership committee to begin an introductory process.

What's in it for you?

The Rotary experience is built on service, friendship, business networking, personal development and FUN.

Community Service

Rotarians are active in raising funds and supporting projects involving health and education, and the development of young people in their neighbourhood, nationally and internationally.

Fellowship

A strong sense of camaraderie develops among members through the many club activities. Rotarians stand together in good times and in bad times. Lifetime friendships are often formed.

Four Way Test

Is it the TRUTH?

Is it FAIR to all concerned?

Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
