Rotary International Conference Bangkok.

Who is joining us in Bangkok 6-9 May 2012? Traditionally 9940 has supported Convention very well and I am sure there will be a great number planning to attend Bangkok in May.  It is a wonderful experience for new Rotarians and those attending will return to invigorate your Club! The fun of this convention is in the friendship both at the sessions but also in the evenings as we enjoy each other’s company and savour the city’s cuisine.
Do consider joining us.  The convention costs are very reasonable this year (only US$160/person before 1 Dec 2011) and if you book your flights early it will be even more affordable. To register your interest please advise me by end of September so we can look at booking accommodation together at howard.tong@xtra.co.nz. The sooner the better. Join Jenny and me and be part of the “Kiwi’s in Bangkok

District Changeover 2012

It's local and promises to vibrant entertaining and great fun! Let's see how many of us can be there for incoming District Governor Graeme Blick.

Guest Speaker

This week our guest speaker was Claudia Disney is a personal trainer for her own business Basic Orange. She talked to us about movement and it aid in fitness.

Claudia emigrated from South Africa, stays fit with boxing and kickboxing. She uses her personal fitness studio to train her clients in total privacy.

Claudia commented that these days old are classified as over 50, so never too late to start exercise. Claudia used a client as example, she is a 60-year-old female and after a few sessions she was moving more like a 30 year old. The more you move joints the better you will feel later on in life and exercise is a great stress reliever.

I really enjoyed Claudia’s talk and I found her message about using movement to exercise and how our joints are made to been moved. I wish Claudia and her business all the best.
